The exchange difference takes care of itself.

You invoice in dollars and get paid three weeks later at a different rate. Readybooks works out the difference between the invoice date and the payment date and posts it as an exchange result, so your receivable comes to zero and your result is right.

Your customer reads their own language.

Per customer you record which language their documents are in. The invoice, the covering email and the online view follow that choice, while your own environment stays in your language.

  • Document language per customer
  • Seven languages in documents and emails
  • Your own copy per document type
  • Date and number formats follow the language

Several countries, several administrations.

If you have a company in two countries you create two administrations, each with its own currency, tax rules and number sequences. They stay separated, but you reach both with the same login.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the rates come from?

From a daily rate source, stored per date with eight decimal places. You can also enter a rate on a document yourself if you agreed something else with your customer; that rate is then stored with the document.

Can I change my base currency later?

No, and that is deliberate. Your base currency is the unit your whole ledger is built in. If you want to book in another currency you create a new administration.

Can I invoice in a country where I am not established?

Yes. For sales to businesses in other EU countries Readybooks reverse-charges the VAT and puts the line on the EC sales list. Sales outside the EU are treated as export.

How many administrations may I have?

As many as you need. You pay per administration, and your accountant can join at no cost.
