Work
Hours you write become hours you invoice.
Every colleague books on the projects they are assigned to and picks what they did. Readybooks keeps the rate that applied that day and lines the hours up per project and activity, ready for the invoice.
Writing the way your week works.
A timer that runs while you work, or a weekly sheet you fill in on Friday in one go. You pick the project and the activity, and you see how much budget is left before you save.
- Timer or weekly entry
- Activities per project
- Remaining budget visible while writing
- Approve hours before they become billable

What a job brought in, and what it cost.
Per project the budget, the hours written, the revenue invoiced and the costs sit together. So you see during the job whether you are making money on it, and not only once the last invoice has gone out.
- Budget in hours or in money
- Progress against budget
- Revenue, costs and margin per project
- Several projects per customer
From hours to an invoice your customer understands.
Select the period and the projects and Readybooks turns the hours into invoice lines. You choose whether to group per activity or show each line separately, and what description your customer sees. Hours already invoiced cannot go out twice.
- Group per activity or per day
- Your own description towards your customer
- Fixed amounts alongside hours on one invoice
- Mark hours as invoiced manually
The administration around your people.
Contract hours, pay agreements, leave and sickness sit with the same colleague as their rates and their hours. You see who is available before you promise anything, and leave balances run along without a separate spreadsheet.
- Contract hours and pay agreements
- Leave types with their own balance
- Leave requests and approval
- Sick leave and availability
Frequently asked questions
Can everyone see every project?
No. A colleague only sees the projects they are assigned to, and which activities apply there. What they see of rates and margins is set by their role.
What happens when a rate changes?
You record the new rate with a start date. Hours before that date keep the old rate, so a rate change never retroactively alters what has already been written.
Can I invoice fixed amounts too?
Yes. Fixed amounts and written hours can sit on the same invoice, each line with the description your customer sees.
Can I import hours from another package?
Yes, through CSV. You map the columns yourself for date, colleague, project, activity and number of hours.
